Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.60.0.1600 Beta / 1.51.2.1300 Final

Malware bytes goes where your normal AV has failed. This little gem of antivir software has saved me on several occasions. Its very light, very small, and a life-saver to put it simple. Malwarebytes has unique scanning features which allow it to catch even the most elusive troublemakers on your PC, I recommend it from personal experience. The program has a free and shareware version, the free one is good enough and provides excelent remedy for a sore windows, the shareware provides active defense and scanning. I've been unable to try the shareware version, but if the freeware is any clue, it should be more than worth it.

The latest version can be found here.

Mozilla SeaMonkey 2.7 Beta 1 / 2.6.1 Final

What used to be Mozilla Aplication Suite is now SeaMonkey. New name, new project and also - new team. Its a a fine heir to Mozilla, all things considered. The packet includes all the tools for working on the net, browser, html redactor, email and news clients, address books and irc. Add ons and plug ins can personalize each fresh install and the browse is fast and fairly stable - decent choice for surfing the web. Do I even have to mention its open source?

You may download the Windows version here.

The linux version is here.

Aaand the MacOS?

Gigabyte LUXO X10

Gigabyte shows us a new gaming PC box, designed for maximum efficiency and no compromise to heat. Nope, none at all.

Its 440x180x430 at around 5.5 kg with adjustable HDD/ODD to allow placing bigger video-cards. Up to 4 dvds and 4 HDDs can be installed with 2 USB 3.0  and 2 audio ports on the front panel. It comes with (yes again) 4 120mm fans and holes for  water cooling ready, with the side structure designed for air circulation efficiency. I'm not saying it can cool your beer, but it definitely won't warm up your pizza. Unfortunately the price tag is yet to be attached...

Android PC the size of a USB flash

If you though they were getting small wait for 2012 to see this.
A norwegian company has designed a mini-device that can be used for hardware emulation of Android OS.

Cotton Candy by FXI looks like a USB flash, BUT its a right and proper PC with ARM processor Samsung Exynos at 1.2 GHZ, 4-core Mali-400 MP graphics chip, microSD slod, HDMI port, Wi-Fi and BlueTooth.

Норвежка компания създаде миниатюрно устройство, което може да се използва като хардуeрен емулатор на операционна система Android. It works under Android 2.3 and can be attached to a laptop, PC or even TV. So far its a prototype, expected as I said in 2012 for roughly 200 dollars.

Миниатюрният компютър се очаква на пазара през втората половина на 2012 година на цена под 200 долара. Показаният прототип все още няма достъп до Android Market, но финалният продукт вероятно ще предложи такъв.

The IcontrolPad

Don't go wait what now? Considering how many people carry smartphones, it was a bit inevitable. The one thing that stops them from being a viable gaming platform is the lack of decent controls. Not anymore as it seems. It uses Bluetooth to connect to your mobile device and should be compatible with all smartphone models, even though the name implies otherwise. For stable connection and comfort it has a holding stock for the phone. The controller does not need to be physically attached of course, but it helps. It was designed with the idea of making a universal joypad so it can be used with tablets and PCs, though so far it has only been tested on BlackBerry Torch, HTC Desire, iPhone and several more. Inbuilt battery has 1350mAh power which can also recharge the phone too via USB adapter. The standard model of the IcontrolPad should be selling for the modest price of 62$.

Your Uninstaller is the word's first Drag&Uninstall™ uninstaller, as an alternative to the Add/Remove programs of Windows. It offers easier way to get rid of useless stuff, and works 5 to 10 times faster than Microsoft's original. It can detect necessary(or to be precise in this case, the unnecessary) registry keys and remove them with your permission. It supports the SmartUninstall™ technology which allows the complete removal of any program, scanning the registry after de-install to scrub the leftovers. It supports a Drag&Uninstall™ feature which allows you to yes - simply drag and drop into Your Uninstaller! and get on with it. Its a shareware but considering how much effort was put in it I suppose we could live with that.

SUMo 2.14.2.119

SUMo or Software update Monitor is  a free program, that allows users to check for updates to software of their choosing. SUMo constantly monitors for updates and downloads them when available. Its better than the internal auto-update that most software has because that only kicks in when said program is started, while SUMo will monitor all the time, and can keep you up to date without the annoying search through websites
When you fire up SUMo for the first time, it scans the pc for available software and then notifies for updates.

SUMo can be downloaded here:

Registry Mechanic 11.0.0.277

Registry mechanic will allow you to sweep, fix and optimise your OS registry with just a few clicks. It uses a number of algorithms to find missing, misleading or broken registry keys which can lead to non-existent objects and cause problems to your OS. Keeping your registry clean is always a good idea, as it will keep your performance up. Its also capable of defragmenting registries which will be another boost to performance and stability. Pretty much the only problem with it, is that its, yes you guessed it, a shareware.

You can download Registry Mechanic here:

Seagate might regain the top spot in the HDD market

Seagate might become the biggest HDD manufacturer in the world again, after losing the leadership in number of devices sold to Western Digital.  The company's assessment is, that the 4th quarter of the year will see about 40-50 million devices produced instead of 55 million due to parts deficit. Two WD factories have stopped temporarily due to flooding and won't resume normal productivity for another 4-6 months. They were providing roughly half of the company's total output . This handicap gives Seagate a chance to reclaim its first place as announced by digitimes.com, since its own Thailand factories are working at full capacity.

From the makers of Comodo antivirus - the Comodo Dragon browser

Ah, Comodo antivirus - the AV that turns your PC into a virtual police state if you let it so. While it does require the user's attention a lot at least in the start until you've unblocked all your favorite programs games and so on, Comodo AV's "draconian"(hehe) measures are definitely effective and its one of the better freeware AVs on the market.
Now those same gentlemen have released their own browser - the Comodo dragon, which incorporates the best of their code. What better way to stay safe, when your browser is an AV program in its own right?

The Comodo browser can be downloaded here.

Size does equal success - 1/3 of Google's products have failed

While Google is an indisputable giant, from 251 products released so far since 1998, 36% or 90 have so far been deemed a failed experiment. A ratio of 1 market failure per 2 successes makes many think that Google

purposely entered some of these niches simply to test them, basically going after everything knowing that some projects will inevitably be faulty, but the rest will thrive with a fair ammount of trial and error in the way.
So far the formula seems to work for Google. When competitors like Microsoft invested billions in various product offers of Bing, Google has multiple alternatives.

Still, ccriticism of this practice is somewhat justified, and not coincidentally the past failures of Google would affect Google +. Google had nothing of similar scale to Gmail for a while. A possible Google + meltdown might sever Google's ambitions to develop as more than a search engine.

Source -

Seems to be in working order...

Well, time for the "grand" unveiling so to speak :) It was a long road for me, and I guess it will be longer still.
